Sunday Morning Gang

Membership

1.  All members must have dues paid in full no later than one week prior to start of year or one week prior to start of second session. Continued failure to pay in a timely manner will place member on  the SMG "#%$" list.

2. Same rules as above also apply to tournaments.

Rules of Play

Following are the Preliminary local rules which all members must abide by during their respective rounds.

1. No member can take more than double the par, and no more than 9 strokes on par 5's. Members must pick up after this mark has been reached

2. Putt all balls to finish, no gimmies. Not even 2 inches.

3. Pay attention to the Golf Card for hazards and out-of-bounds markers (e.g. #18), including stonewalls which are out-of-bounds on a number of holes (especially #14).

4. Limit time searching for balls to 4 minutes. Inform players ahead of you to play their next shot if they wish until you find your ball. Then advise them of your outcome

5. Play a provisional ball (3rd shot if lost) for any shots that are deemed to be "possibly" lost off of the tee OR play your 3rd shot at the point nearest where you and your partners determine your ball to be lost

6. Preferred lies "ON" fairways only. Any part of ball off of fairway makes ball "OFF" of fairway. Please pay close attention to this rule as it has been brought to our attention that certain members are still adjusting balls that are NOT in fairway.  You cannot move your ball if it lands in a divot that is NOT in the fairway but you may move it in a divot that is IN the fairway.  You can take relief (one club length and no closer to the hole if your ball is on or near a man made hazard (sprinkler head, cart path, bridge, yardage markers etc. in the rough or on the fairway) Illegally adjusting your ball can cause an unfair and unsportsmanlike advantage especially when those players are entered in the Birdie Pool.  We'll be watching this one close this year.

7. Substitutes are not eligible for weekly prizes, however, they are eligible to be entered into the birdie pool.

8. A $100 prize is awarded to the member who gets a Hole-In-One.  A $50 prize is awarded to any sub who gets a Hole-In-One but it is mandatory that the Sub buy a round for any member still in the clubhouse. So far only Ken Franco and Ted Adams have hit Aces in the History of the SMG. (8 years)
